Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience and a CO or compact RN license.
Details
- 24-bed Cardio Thoracic ICU serving as a regional destination for circulatory and respiratory support of critically ill adults
- Specializes in open-heart surgeries, ventricular assist devices, heart and lung transplants, ECMO, aortic aneurysm repair, and vascular/thoracic surgeries
- Nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity, ranging from 1:2, 1:1 to 2:1
- Rotating 3x12 shifts (day and night) with various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs between like units
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (Colorado or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required, NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Experience with 1:2 patient ratios preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Experience managing central lines, arterial lines, and blood product administration
- Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with sheath removal, IABP, and post cardiac surgery care
Additional Information
- Provide multidisciplinary, holistic nursing care focused on improving outcomes for cardiothoracic surgical and critical care patients
- Utilize a wide range of bedside modalities including vasoactive medications and complete cardio-pulmonary support
- Navy scrub color required
- Facility-specific modules must be completed within the first week of assignment
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods restricting RTO requests
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate if residing less than 75 miles from the facility
- Candidates with prior UCHealth employment must disclose details for eligibility review
- Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
