Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ED experience, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications at a Level 3 trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
- Teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation serving trauma, injury, and urgent medical conditions
- Treats a variety of medical, mental health, and chemical dependency needs including neuro, cardiac, and mental health specialties
- Maintains a 3:1 patient ratio on all shifts
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
- Required to work every third weekend
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required outside of scope
- Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system
Requirements
- Active MN RN license or pending license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC
- Preferred certifications: ENPC and SANE
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Skilled in obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and maintaining IVs
- Triage experience required
- Experience with ED boarding
- Preferred experience with care of ventilated patients and ICU
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include emergency triage, cardiac monitoring, and IV therapy for a diverse patient population
- May float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
- Navy scrubs required for top and bottom, with an optional navy jacket or solid color long sleeve layer
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must have been gone at least 3 months since last working as perm staff or per diem at this health system
- RTO should ideally be no more than 5 days
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
