Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring a minimum of 2 years bedside nursing experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Float within a large short-term acute care hospital to Med Surg, Tele, Trauma, Oncology, Heart and Vascular, Neuro, Medicine and COVID units, as well as ED Holding/Boarding
- Some units are primary nursing assignments
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Patient ratios of 1:4-6
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- EPIC charting system used
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS and BCLS
- Minimum of 2 years of bedside nursing experience as an RN required
- IV start and telemetry skills required
- Must pass Relias EKG exam covering interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Preferred certifications: Chemo, CCRN, NIHSS, ONS, TNCC, CPI
- Pending license accepted
- First-time travelers not accepted
Additional Information
- Float shift to shift across all inpatient units except Women's/Infant and Labor & Delivery
- Must be able to work independently with strong nursing skills
- Level I Trauma, teaching hospital setting with over 1,259 staffed beds
- Navy scrub color required
- No more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break
- Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any facility within the health system as a traveler
