Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ED experience for a 13-week night shift assignment.
Details
- Work in a General Emergency Department caring for a combined adult and pediatric population
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), various days of the week
- Weekend shifts required per unit needs
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs and between like units
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC, CPI
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience required
- Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Comfortable managing multiple patient assignments with varying acuity
- Ability to adapt to changing patient volumes and department needs
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and medication administration
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
- Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, PPE use, and triage procedures
Additional Information
- Quickly integrates into a team and manages change well in a high-census emergency department environment
- Maintains a positive attitude and contributes wherever needed to support patient care and department flow
- Completion of all facility-specific training modules required within the first week of assignment
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per contract, with blackout periods where RTO is not allowed
- No blocked scheduling requests permitted
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
- Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose prior employment details
- Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
