Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring NY RN licensure and critical care float capability across stepdown units.

Details

• Work within the ICU/CCU and support the critical care service line, including ICU/MSDU holds in the ED
• Night shift, 12.5-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), alternating weekends
• Floating required within the critical care service line to Medical Stepdown, Surgical Stepdown, and Cardiothoracic Stepdown units
• Care for patients requiring ventilators, endotracheal tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Manage immediate post-surgical, trauma, neurosurgery, and neuro intervention patients
• Experience with post cardiac cath, DKA, cardiac drips, and sedation titration
• Monitor arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and transvenous pacing wires
• Care for post structural heart patients with telemetry monitoring

Requirements

• Active NYS RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required for this unit type
• 3+ years of critical care/ICU experience preferred
• Strong lab interpretation, critical thinking, and time management skills required
• Two professional references from previous managers required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care across the critical care service line with a focus on ICU-level acuity
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a reduced rate
• Work week runs Saturday 11:00 PM to Saturday 11:00 PM at this facility
• Candidates with prior employment at Northwell or Nuvance Health locations will undergo an eligibility review process before being confirmed
