Description
American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring MO or compact RN license and at least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown or Telemetry experience.
Details
- Work in the Stepdown Neuro unit of a Level II Trauma, teaching hospital
- Flexacuity unit ranging from PCU/Stepdown to Telemetry acuity levels
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating may be required to similar units
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with insulin protocols and drip titration preferred
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across a flexacuity Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry unit
- Participate in rapid response/code team activations as needed
- Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday dates (Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 70 miles are not accepted
- RTO dates must be provided at time of consideration
