Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Medical Surgical RN with ortho experience for a day shift position requiring a compact or MD RN license and at least one completed travel assignment.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic patients
- Patient population includes joint replacements, spinal surgery, orthopedic trauma, hand trauma, and fractures
- Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floating required between Ortho and MedSurg units
- Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend
Requirements
- Active RN license, either compact or MD state license
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
- Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
- Required ortho experience including peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and surgical drains
- Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
Additional Information
- Care for patients with complex orthopedic and surgical needs including wound care, drain management, and post-surgical monitoring
- Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius to qualify for local candidate status, with address verified against driver's license
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
- Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates may only be submitted to one MedStar location at a time
- Manager interviews are not guaranteed
