Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Works in a 34-bed Post-Op Med/Surg unit (6th Ent/GI/Med Surg)
- Patient ratio of 6:1
- Tech support available on day and night shifts, with unit secretary coverage 7a-7p
- Uses IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse ox machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and iMobile communication technology
- Charting completed in Meditech
- Schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week on a 7:00AM-7:00PM rotation
- Requires working 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
- Contract labor floats first, assigned by rotation among contract staff when multiple are scheduled
Requirements
- Active RN license (TN or compact) required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Med/Surg experience required including ability to start IVs, perform basic wound care, and maintain surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- Strong prioritization and multitasking skills needed
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Provide attentive, compassionate care with bedside shift report and personal connection with patients and families, including them in care planning
- Facility holds Comprehensive Stroke, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, and Certified Chest Pain Center designations
- Navy scrub tops and bottoms required as uniform
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
