Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I/II trauma experience and a minimum of 3 years of ED experience.
Details
- Level I trauma center emergency department serving a combined adult/pediatric population
- Typical patient ratio of 4:1 based on acuity
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
- Required to work every other weekend
- No on-call requirements
- No floating required
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted AZ RN license or valid compact license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS required; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent ED experience required
- Level I and Level II trauma center experience required
- Cerner charting experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications must be obtained through AHA
- Skills required include pediatric emergency care, IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, 12-lead EKG interpretation, and triage
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of patient presentations including trauma, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, and pediatric cases
- Must be comfortable floating without restrictions within the facility or to affiliate hospitals based on census needs
- RNs may wear any scrub color
- Free parking available on-site
- Must be available to work 2 of the facility's recognized holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
- RTO requests require unit manager approval and no RTO is permitted during the first week due to orientation
- First-time travelers accepted if they have 5 years of ED experience
- Local candidates accepted
- Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
- Previous facility staff must be separated from employment for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler

Cost of living for housing is insane! Pay package isnt that great. 20 to 30 percent of the hospital staff are travelers
