Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med Surg/Stepdown RN with 2+ years of experience and an active SC or compact RN license for a role requiring frequent floating between units.

Details

• 22-bed adult Med Surg Oncology unit that frequently floats to Stepdown and MS/Tele units
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on Stepdown and 1:5-6 on Med Surg
• Weekday schedule with every other weekend required
• Floating required between Med Surg, Stepdown, and MS/Tele units
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Uses Meditech EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (ACLS and NIHSS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to floating responsibilities
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• No prior license or background check issues accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med Surg Oncology unit with frequent floating to Stepdown and Telemetry units
• Floating occurs within a single hospital campus in rotation with staff, following Joint Commission standards including appropriate orientation to new units
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue/white scrub color required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous employees must have been gone for at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Minimal to no requested time off, especially during the first weeks of the assignment
