Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level IV Emergency Department RN for a night shift assignment requiring TNCC, NIHSS, and at least 2 years of ED experience.
Details
- Level IV Trauma Center emergency department with 15 beds and 2 trauma bays
- Fast Track and separate Triage area available
- Separate Psych/seclusion rooms available with 24/7 in-house security
- Average of 35+ patients treated per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
- Common drips administered include cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, and sedation/analgesia
- RT present in ER 24/7 managing vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow equipment
- Both phlebotomy and RN staff perform lab draws
- Charge nurse may take a patient assignment
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling available
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Holiday coverage required
- Floating within Zone 1 possible in cases of extreme need, determined by nurse manager
- Call/standby requirements determined by nurse manager
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active CO or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NRP, and NIHSS
- TNCC and NIHSS experience required as must-have skills
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, fast-paced ER setting
- Perform triage duties as needed
- Troubleshoot ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and High Flow devices as needed
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Unit-specific orientation date and location assigned during orientation week
- Candidates must be in-state for orientation week even if initial modules are remote
- Facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
- Clinical interview required with possible offer extended by the clinical team on behalf of the facility
- Radius requirement of 60 miles with driver's license used to confirm permanent address
- First-time travelers may be considered for this role
