Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week assignment requiring a CO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience.
Details
- Acute care Level IV trauma Emergency Department with 15 beds and 2 trauma bays
- High-volume ER treating 35+ patients per day with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Includes a Fast Track area and separate Triage area where travelers may be required to triage
- Separate Psych/seclusion rooms available with 24/7 in-house security
- Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, headache, injury, and extremity pain
- Manages cardiac, antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, and sedation/analgesia drips
- RT coverage 24/7 managing vents, CPAP, BiPap, and High Flow equipment
- Both RN and Phlebotomy staff draw labs
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Day shift schedule with self-scheduling and block scheduling options
- Weekend requirement of 6-9 shifts per 6-week schedule
- Floating within Zone 1 may be required based on facility need
- Charge nurse may take a patient assignment
- Call or standby requirements determined by nurse manager
Requirements
- Active CO or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, and NRP
- TNCC and NIHSS experience required
- BSN not required
- Driver's license copy required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency department setting
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Holiday coverage required
- Unit-specific orientation date and location assigned during orientation week
- Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week even if initial training modules are remote
- Candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
