Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatrics position requiring 2 years of Med Surg experience with both adult and pediatric populations.
Details
- Pediatrics unit within a hospital setting
- Mixed adult and pediatric patient population
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
- Floating to other Med Surg units with adult population may be required if needed
- Potential for remote telemetry monitoring responsibilities
- Uses Meditech charting system
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience required
- Experience with telemetry required
- Experience caring for both adult and pediatric patients required
- Meditech charting experience preferred
- Skills in respiratory care, including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) and chest tube management preferred
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience with Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS)/Rapid Response Team required
- On-unit telemetry monitoring experience preferred
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs every Monday
- Holiday coverage required during contract
- Minimal RTO requested due to limited staffing availability
- Blocked scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
- Former permanent employees must wait 12 months before returning as travelers
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Travel pairs are accepted
