Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC/PCU) unit requiring telemetry experience and a compact or VA RN license.
Details
- Work in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown) of a hospital setting
- Cardiac telemetry patient population including post-cath, post-MI, and pacemaker management
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Cerner/Oracle Health charting experience preferred but not required
- 3x12 or 4x12 night shift schedule, 19:00-17:00
- Floating required to Intermediate and MedSurg units, with travelers floating first as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license, compact or VA license required in hand
- Candidates with pending certifications will be considered
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year experience in the unit specialty, 2-3 years overall experience preferred
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Experience in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry monitoring and emergency response including use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Biweekly orientation held on Mondays with 8-10 hours of required modules
- Scrubs may be any color with a professional appearance; child-friendly prints and lab coats allowed
- Nicotine-free campus
- Must reside within a 60-mile radius of the facility
- RTO must be approved prior to assignment start, with none preferred during the first few weeks
- Expected to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff
- Former perm employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are not accepted
