Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN - ICU for a Burn Unit position requiring CO or compact RN licensure and recent ICU experience.

Details

• Work in an 8-bed Burn Unit treating burn patients across Med/Surg, intermediate care, and ICU levels of care
• Also cares for immediate post-op and general medical/surgical ICU patients
• Patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:3
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, and 1 wound tech; night shift includes 1 charge nurse and 3 RNs
• Uses GE monitors and Plum IV pumps
• Charting is done in Meditech
• Shift schedule runs from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of current ICU RN experience required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (Canadian SSN not accepted)
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide resuscitation and care for critical burn patients through acute and recovery phases
• Perform ICU assessments, ventilator management, fluid resuscitation, wound care, and pain management
• Team-oriented environment requiring strong communication skills
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
