Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN-Operating Room for an academic teaching hospital requiring IN or Compact RN license and 2+ years of varied surgical circulating experience.

Details

• Operating Room setting within an academic health center/teaching hospital
• Average census of 70-80 with 24 beds
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, Monday-Friday 10:45-21:15
• Call requirement of 40-60 hours within a 6 week schedule
• 100% floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Uses DaVinci Xi Surgical System for robotic procedures

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent (within 3 years) circulating experience required
• Experience required across General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), and Liver resection procedures
• Charge experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Academic health center, complex cancer care, and high acuity experience preferred
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 supervisor references required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Circulate for a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, gynecologic, thoracic, ENT, oral, urologic, vascular, and plastics cases
• Perform duties related to robotic-assisted surgeries using the DaVinci Xi system
• Adhere to infection control, specimen handling, and universal protocol (time out) procedures
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local IN residents are considered local and accepted for this Surgical Services position at a lower pay package
• Perm or PRN employees of the health system must be separated for 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within the health system must take a consecutive break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional time off requires facility approval
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
