Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and a TX or compact RN license.

Details

• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Labor and Delivery unit caring for antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Facility performs 100-200 births per month
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic charting system required
• 6 weekend shifts required over a 6-week period
• Holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP (AWHONN Intermediate preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs, central lines (CVC/PICC), and infusion pumps
• Experience managing high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries
• Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and spiral electrode placement
• Experience administering medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• Experience with postpartum care including Cesarean section recovery, hemorrhage management, and wound care
• State-issued ID required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries including use of forceps/vacuum extraction
• Monitor and interpret fetal heart rate patterns and manage related complications
• Support patients through pain management including epidural and PCA use
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
• Candidates living within 90 miles are considered local
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
• RTO requests limited to 5 non-consecutive days, with only one holiday RTO request permitted during Nov-Jan, subject to management approval prior to contract signing
