Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a day shift hospital role requiring a CA RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit caring for a high-risk OB and culturally diverse patient population
- 11 rooms/beds with average daily census of 15-20 patients
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Weekend shifts required to meet staffing needs
- Floating required to meet facility needs, with travelers given first priority within their scope
- Epic EMR experience required
- RNs circulate on cesarean sections
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:3
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and maintaining IVs required
- Experience with labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, and C-section circulation required
- Experience with fetal monitoring (EFM) and obstetrical patient triage required
- Postpartum care experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
- No more than 7 days of RTO permitted
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Candidates may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
