Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 12-hour day shift contract requiring IL licensure and prior Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience.

Details

• ICU setting caring for inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions
• 12-hour day shift schedule
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• First to float to other Med/Surg/Tele units
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross only)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience required
• Must pass EKG test with 80% or higher
• Epic EMR experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• New graduates not accepted
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required, with one from the most recent travel assignment

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions in an ICU setting
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile local radius
• On-site EKG test required on Day 1 of orientation; a study guide will be provided in advance and failure to pass may result in contract termination
• Facility conducts a 10-15 minute interview as part of the hiring process
• First-time travelers are not considered for this assignment
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated from employment for 12 months before being considered as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for 13-week contracts or 3 days for 8-week contracts
• Must work 1-2 holidays during the contract
