Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Tele for a day shift contract requiring prior travel nursing experience and IL licensure.

Details

• Work in the ICU caring for inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry admissions
• 12-hour day shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required, with priority to float to other Med/Surg/Tele units
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart or American Red Cross only)
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg/Tele/Neuro experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• New graduates not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must pass a Relias EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Must pass an on-site EKG test on Day 1 of orientation
• 2 professional references required, with 1 reference required from most recent travel assignment
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to inpatient Med/Surg/Telemetry patients in an ICU setting
• Must work at least 1-2 holidays during the contract
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts or 7 days for 13-week contracts
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be considered local
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated for 12 months before being submitted as a traveler
• Candidates will participate in a brief 10-15 minute interview with the hospital
