Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a Level 1 Trauma Center, requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2+ years of experience.

Details

• Night shift position (7P-7A) on the 9th Floor Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit
• Unit spans one floor with 44 beds across two nursing stations
• Patient population includes adult trauma, ortho, urology, colorectal, and surgical cases
• Common diagnosis/treatment focus on post-op care
• Patient ratio of 6:1, with potential for up to 7:1
• Uses EPIC EHR system
• No call requirements
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts within a 4-week schedule, with expectation of at least 2 weekends scheduled
• Floating required to units with comparable patient population when needed

Requirements

• Active RN license, PA or compact, required
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• EPIC EHR experience required
• Must be able to manage a 7:1 patient ratio
• Trauma unit experience required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation test prior to starting on the unit
• AHA certifications required
• Active Nursys/licensure verification required at time of consideration
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Work at a Level 1 Trauma Center offering tertiary care and a wide range of specialty services
• Facility maintains a robust internal float team, making the likelihood of floating relatively low
• No designated scrub color, but professional appearance required
• Facial piercings restricted to a single-sided nose stud; facial hoops not permitted
• Pennsylvania-specific background clearances required, including Child Abuse History Clearance, Department of Human Services Fingerprinting, FBI Department of Aging Fingerprinting, and PATCH State Police Clearance
• All candidates must complete clear screenings prior to starting
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Candidates within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible for this assignment
• Previous permanent staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months disqualifies candidates
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
• Every other weekend coverage required
