Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry position requiring 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience and a MO or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Neuro Stepdown unit of a Level II Trauma, teaching hospital
- Flexacuity unit ranging from PCU/Stepdown to Telemetry patient needs
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating may be required to similar units
- EPIC charting system required
Requirements
- Active RN license (MO or Compact) currently in hand
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring
- Skilled in IV therapy, PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management
- Respiratory care experience including BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care
- Experience with insulin drip titration and heparin protocols
- Wound care and isolation precaution/PPE experience
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across a flexacuity unit spanning stepdown and telemetry patient populations
- Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday dates: Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, 12/26, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Navy blue scrub color required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted
- RTO dates must be submitted at time of consideration
