Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) of a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required between units, with travelers prioritized to float to Tele or MS floors if overstaffed
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Cardiac drip titration and management experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Response required regarding any prior employment history with a Providence facility
Additional Information
- Manage PCU/stepdown patients including cardiac, renal, neurological, and GI cases
- Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy care is valued
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
- Previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), choosing only one of Thanksgiving or Christmas off
- Scrub color for RNs is open (any color)
- No parking fee at this facility
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
