Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a short-term acute care hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an OR RN license.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit in a short term acute care hospital setting
• 1:4 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• May be asked to switch to night shift if needs change
• Every other weekend or as-needed weekend requirement
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units and sister facilities based on skill set is common
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required, compact license must be in hand at submission
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience required
• Current BLS certification required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including starting and maintaining IVs and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with blood product administration
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
• Experience managing cardiac drips (no titration), heparin, and insulin administration
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Must have a vehicle for this assignment
• Scrub color is any color for this unit
• No fee for parking
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Previous Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Local radius guideline of 50 miles
