Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Float Critical Care ICU position requiring an active NJ or Compact license and EPIC charting experience.

Details

  • Combined ICU and CCU unit in a quaternary-care regional teaching hospital
  • Critical care ratios of 1:1-3, or 1:4 if floated to stepdown, varying by census and acuity
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Floating required within skillset to ICU/CCU, CTICU, Step Down units, and ED Holding for ICU patients awaiting a bed
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
  • EPIC charting experience required

Requirements

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Swan-Ganz catheter experience highly preferred
  • Experience with or exposure to IABP, Impella, and VAD highly preferred
  • CTICU or medical cardiology experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing in a combined ICU/CCU setting at a facility with a large heart transplant program and structural heart and valve center
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Winter holiday coverage required (work or on-call) for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
  • First-time travelers welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former RWJBH staff (full-time or PRN) must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year to be eligible for travel assignments
