Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a high-acuity Surgery Trauma unit requiring Level 1 trauma center experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Surgery Trauma unit (6A) in a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• No block scheduling available; must be willing to work assigned shifts
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• No on-call requirements
• Unit supported by nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and night unit secretary
• Nurse handoff conducted between ED and admitting unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the Med/Surg specialty required
• Experience in high-acuity, high-volume Level 1 trauma centers required
• Proven background managing critical, fast-paced trauma cases required
• EPIC EMR experience required

• Work in a fast-paced, high-volume trauma environment handling complex and severe cases
• No RTO permitted during the contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
