Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU/Preop position requiring 2+ years of PACU experience with ventilator and ICU-level recovery skills.

Details

• Work in the Preop/PACU department of a 295-bed acute care hospital
• Not a designated trauma center
• Care for patients across all age groups including infants, children, and elderly
• Service lines include general, robotics, bariatrics, ortho, podiatry, ENT, urology, vascular (thoracic/vascular only, no open heart or cath lab), neuro, GYN, endo, and pulmonology
• No c-sections or suction D&C cases, as these are handled in labor and delivery
• Typical patient ratio is 2:1, except for peds or ICU-level care
• Uses ventilators, art lines, Foley catheters, chest tubes, bladder scanners, Baxter IV pumps, SCDs, and wound vacs
• Charting performed in Meditech Magic
• Schedule is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM
• Weekend work required at least once or twice during the 13-week assignment
• On-call required every other week from 11 PM to 7 AM, typically on a scheduled workday
• Floating required within Preop/PACU

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Must be able to recover and hold ventilator patients
• Experience with art lines, Foley catheters, chest tubes, and assisting with blocks required
• Experience caring for pediatric patients on a 1:1 basis required
• Ability to handle ICU-level patients for recovery and bed holding preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide preop and PACU recovery care across all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Travelers who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
