Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) Telemetry position requiring telemetry oncology, cardiac, vent, and transplant experience at a Level I/II trauma academic medical center.

Details

• Work in the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and IMC Thoracic unit
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am, Monday through Friday
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required, including 12/24 and 12/25 with no time off approved
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Experience in an Academic Level I or II trauma center or similar size hospital required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and post-transplant care experience required
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall passing score
• Skilled in care of ventilated patients, central/peripheral line management, chest tube management, and cardiac drip titration
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry and cardiac monitoring care to IMC/stepdown patients, including oncology and post-transplant populations
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Must pass telemetry exam within two attempts, or complete a cardiac interpretation review course before a third attempt is allowed
• Work at a Magnet-designated academic medical center ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital
