Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring advanced fetal monitoring expertise and Epic EMR experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit featuring 4 triage bays, 11 LDR rooms, and 2 ORs, with onsite NICU and Post-Partum units
- Low and high-risk L&D patients supported by 24/7 OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage
- Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 4 weekend shifts per month required (Friday or Saturday)
- Mandatory on-call responsibilities, approximately 2 times per month in addition to 3 scheduled shifts
- May be placed on call status if not needed for a scheduled shift
- Float to Perinatal required as needed
- Circulates for C-sections
- Uses external fetal monitoring equipment
- Charting systems include SBAR, Omnicell, and eMD Allscripts
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
- Minimum 2.5 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Recent experience performing sterile vaginal exams and managing high-risk patients
- Knowledge of the CMQCC Category II algorithm required
- Advanced fetal monitoring experience required
- Skilled in recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Allscripts charting experience preferred
- References required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing care across triage, LDR, and OR settings
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Returning staff reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Facility is smoke and nicotine-free; candidates must arrive free of tobacco odor
- RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application and cannot exceed 3 days total
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- One holiday RTO request may be submitted but is not guaranteed approval
- Must work most holidays
- Advanced EKG exam required prior to start, with a minimum passing score of 80% and up to two attempts allowed
