Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring an active NY RN license and EPIC EMR experience in a busy, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital.

Details

• Adult/pediatric combined Emergency Department setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5 covering adults and geriatrics with all emergency-type diagnoses
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage required, if needed
• Floating required within skillset
• EPIC charting experience required
• Special equipment used includes Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of navy blue and white

Requirements

• Active NY Single State RN license required in hand (NY is not a compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certification: TNCC
• Required EPIC EMR experience
• Skilled in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with IV vasopressors and continuous IV sedation
• Competency in CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management
• Experience managing CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI patients
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience in emergency care including gunshot wounds and ortho trauma
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience managing psychiatric emergencies including acute psychosis, overdose, violent behavior, and suicidal patients
