Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring 1+ year experience and GA state licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting
• Day shift, 5x8 hours (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM), with flexibility to consider 4x10 schedules
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays are part of the rotation
• No call requirements
• May float within facility and scope of practice to an outpatient facility as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Current GA State OT license required (license required if applicable)
• BLS certification required
• NBCOT certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Experience with orthopedics, amputee care, and upper/lower extremity conditions
• Experience with dynamic, functional, and static splinting
• Experience treating Parkinson's disease, arthritis, and other progressive neurological disorders

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Responsibilities include assessment, evaluation, plan of care development, reassessments, and discharge planning
• Duties include patient/family education, safety and injury prevention, and lifting and transfer techniques
• Holiday coverage is required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former Piedmont perm, per diem, or staff employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Travelers who cancel or are released from a Piedmont assignment must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
