Description

American Traveler is hiring a PCU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring active MI RN licensure and 2+ years of PCU experience.

Details

• Work in a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) within a Level 2 ICU setting featuring Open Heart, Cath Lab, Neuro Surgery, Level II Trauma, and CRRT programs
• Patient ratio of 1:3 for IMCU
• Equipment used includes Baxter IV pumps, Omnicell, Prisma Flex CRRT, Impella, IABP, EVDs, bolt monitoring, vents, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required on a rotation basis with other travel nurses
• No scheduled call, though may be placed on call if unit census drops

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Preferred experience in CVICU, Neuro ICU, organ donation, or pediatric DKA

Additional Information

• Care for patients with diagnoses including post-open heart surgery, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU needs, post-stroke with lytics, post-craniotomy, and septic shock
• Scrub colors limited to galaxy, royal, or navy blue
• Hoodies and open-toed shoes are not acceptable attire
• Candidates should be positive team players
• Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
