Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position requiring RRT certification and 2+ years of current NICU experience.
Details
- NICU respiratory care unit
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Requirements
- Associate's Degree from an accredited college
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Minimum 2 years of current NICU respiratory therapy experience
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- State of Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner license or eligibility
- License required if applicable
- Driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
- Two professional references required for consideration
Additional Information
- Administer medical gas therapy per department procedures
- Evaluate appropriateness and effectiveness of respiratory therapies and collaborate with advanced practitioners and clinical specialists on care plans
- Review patient charts including orders, lab values, and chest x-rays, and document care accurately
- Operate and maintain respiratory equipment in a safe, sanitary condition
- Monitor patients during therapy for adverse reactions and respond according to department policy
- Position involves exposure to blood-borne pathogens
- Medium lifting physical demands required
