Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/Stroke RN requiring NIH Stroke Scale competency and a TX or compact RN license for a 13-week assignment.

Details

Work on a 24-bed Telemetry/Stroke unit within a hospital setting
Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, 3 PCTs, and 1 secretary; night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 5 RNs, and 3 PCTs
Patient ratio of 1:5/6
Uses Meditech EMR
Shift runs 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Every other weekend required
Floating to PCU/Med Surg required

Requirements

Active RN license (TX or compact) required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) competency required
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in telemetry/stroke nursing
BSN preferred
No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)

Additional Information

Perform foley insertions, PIV placement, blood draws, and code stroke initiation as typical unit procedures
Royal blue scrub color required
Best suited for team-oriented candidates with strong interpersonal skills
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not considered
