Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN requiring a CT or compact RN license and MICU/SICU background for a 13-week assignment with every other weekend required.

Details

• ICU setting within a hospital
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• 1:2 patient ratio on all shifts (unless floated to med/surg)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating required to med/surg and critical care units as needed
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Required experience in Medical Intensive Care Unit and Surgical Intensive Care Unit settings
• Epic charting system experience required
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required (religious/medical exemption only)
• Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line care
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, and interpretation of ABGs
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE knowledge required

• Provide critical care nursing to medical and surgical ICU patients
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are considered local
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a travamanagemenler
• RTO requests limited to a minimum, with no holiday RTO permitted
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
