Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring 3+ years of experience, CA RN licensure, and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Endoscopy unit performing Bronchoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures
- Day shift, 4x10s, Monday through Friday with no set days, typically 0700-1730
- Call required 2-3 nights per week and 1-2 weekends per month
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certification from an approved vendor
- Associate Degree (A.A. or A.S.) required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum 3 years of GI/Endoscopy nursing experience required
- Competency in endoscope manipulation techniques and knowledge of associated complications
- Ability to interpret diagnostic measures including lab tests, radiology exams, and EKGs
Additional Information
- Monitor patients during procedures and recognize changes in physiological and psychological status
- Provide post-sedation recovery care and apply knowledge of post-procedure complications and discharge criteria
- Deliver clear discharge instructions to patients
- Assist physicians and advanced providers during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Ensure proper setup, cleaning, and handling of GI procedure equipment
- Follow hospital policy for minimal/moderate sedation, including pre- and post-assessment
- Complete patient physical and social history within 30 minutes of arrival
- Practice infection control techniques throughout all procedures
- Position is represented by CNA
- Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel pay
- Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
