Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a Neuro Surgical Specialty unit requiring 2 years of acute inpatient tele experience and a KY or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in a 34-bed Neuro Surgical Specialty unit
- Patient population includes spine and neuro surgical cases (not stroke)
- Patient ratio of 4-5:1
- Equipment used includes lumbar/JP drains and wound vacs
- Skills needed include traction, PCA, trach care, EKG, and feeding tubes
- Night shift schedule from 6:45p-7:15a with every other weekend required
- 36 hours per week over three 12-hour shifts
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license (KY or compact) required
- Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient telemetry experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
Additional Information
- Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans
- Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff and functions as a mentor/preceptor
- Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts
- Delivers patient and family centered care with a focus on education and satisfaction
- Optional neuro certification class available through the Neuro Institute
