Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a Level 1 Trauma Center's Pulmonary unit, requiring 2 years of full lifespan experience and critical care skills including ECMO and proning techniques.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy Services: Pulmonary unit at a Level 1 Trauma Center with Level II NICU, Magnet designation, and Primary Stroke Center status
• 273-bed teaching hospital
• Treats neonates through geriatric respiratory patients
• 1:1 patient ratios
• 12-hour night shifts, 6pm start, 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday coverage based on facility needs
• Potential floating to other hospitals within the PSA based on contract terms
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Ventilators include PB840, 980, Servo-U, and Hamilton
• CPAP/BiPAP equipment includes V60s, ResMed, and RemStar
• Utilizes Optiflow and Hamilton transport vents
• Supervisor support available on the unit
• One day of on-unit orientation

Requirements

• Active RT license required (if applicable)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA) required
• RRT or CRT certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience across full patient lifespan (pediatric, adult, and geriatric)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Experience with trach care, nitrous oxide procedures, proning techniques, and ECMO required
• Critical care experience required, including ventilator-associated pneumonia prevention
• Experience with spontaneous breathing trials and ABG draws required
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
• Candidate date of birth and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care across the full patient lifespan in a high-acuity pulmonary unit
• Charcoal gray scrubs required
• Free on-site parking available
• First-time travelers considered upon review
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for a travel assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
