Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry skills and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical-surgical unit with an emphasis in Bariatrics and Orthopedics providing 24-hour inpatient care
• 40-bed unit with a daily census of 39
• Patient ratios of 1:5-7, which may fluctuate based on unit needs or surge
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (3x12), 18:45-07:15
• 36 or 48 hours per week may be offered
• Floating required within or near the facility
• Weekend requirement of 2-3 shifts in 6 weeks
• Uses Pyxis, Epic, SBAR, and Voalte systems

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required (pending license/certs OK for consideration)
• Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, NIHSS, IV Start, and Telemetry
• ACLS certification preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care/management, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response/code team participation, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Must maintain hand hygiene compliance of 75%

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and non-invasive airway management
• 36 hours of unit orientation required, with full availability during week one for hospital orientation
• Scrubs not provided; navy or white (or combination) required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if it does not fall on a holiday; no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Additional RTO after signing is not permitted and could result in cancellation
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details
• Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status, not both
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed
