Description

American Traveler is seeking a Telemetry RN with at least 2 years of experience, stroke and post cardiac cath care background, and a MO or compact RN license for a day shift hospital assignment.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting on the Telemetry unit
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with total joint replacement, neuro spine, general surgery, wounds, diabetic care, COVID, and oral surgery needs
• Average daily census of 16 with a staffing ratio of 1:4-6, occasionally stretching to 5 patients
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0700-1930
• Every other weekend required
• Required to float between two campus locations as needed, within service line
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required (compact must match permanent residence)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required, including stroke and post cardiac catheterization patient care
• Step-down or telemetry unit experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with IV therapy, central and PICC line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Navy scrub color required
• Free parking available on-site
• Some initial orientation hours may fall outside normal contract shift times
• First-time travelers with relevant unit experience will be considered
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of orientation
• Returning permanent BJC employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months, followed by a required 3-month break in service
