Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level II Trauma Center experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Department setting in a Level II Trauma Center
• STEMI and Stroke Certified facility
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• 13-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required (Sunday not considered a weekend)
• Floating required based on facility needs, including to DOU within scope of practice for Tele/MS-Tele staff
• Meditech charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and MAB or CPI
• TNCC certification preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Skilled in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with arterial line, central line, and blood product administration
• Proficient in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients, intubation, and BiPAP/CPAP
• Skilled in neuro-trauma care including CVA, ICP monitoring, and spinal cord injury management
• Experience with pediatric, psychiatric, and orthopedic trauma cases
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of adult and pediatric conditions, including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
• Perform triage and apply isolation precautions/PPE as needed
• Manage splints and assist with ortho-trauma cases
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the initial profile
• Travel pairs are not accepted for this assignment
• Former permanent employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must be fully committed, as cancellations may result in a Do Not Return (DNR) status
