Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN for a complex diagnostic cardiac cath lab, requiring 2 years of cath lab experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting in the Cath Lab department
• Diagnostic cardiac cath lab performing procedures such as IABP placement/removal, left and right heart catheterization
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Requires 4 weekend shifts per contract
• On-call requirement based on departmental needs with a 30-minute response time, averaging 10 call shifts within a 6-week period including one weekend
• No floating required between like units
• Epic EMR used for charting

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
• Current certifications required: ACLS and BLS; NIH certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience preferred due to case complexity
• IR experience is a plus
• Experience with medications such as antihypertensives and IV vasopressors preferred
• Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring and thrombolytics preferred
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
• Skills in interpretation/management of dysrhythmias and ventilator management preferred
• Experience with Lasix drips preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a complex diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; Cath Lab scrubs provided
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO must be submitted upfront at time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the region
• Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
