Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring MD or compact RN license and NCC C-EFM certification in hand at time of consideration.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit caring for neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 or 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as scheduled
• Floating required within specialty and to mother/baby unit as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Facility averages fewer than 100 births per month
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required
• 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NCC C-EFM (in hand at submission), STABLE, CPI, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
• Experience with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, Terbutaline, and Prostaglandins
• Experience with external and internal fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, and forceps/vacuum extraction
• Experience in postpartum care including couplet care, cesarean section recovery, and hemorrhage management
• Experience with newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and newborn assessment

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including baby catching and cord sample collection
• Support pain management including epidural and PCA use
• Deliver breastfeeding and lactation support along with discharge teaching to parents
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no scheduling restrictions
