Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring 2-3 years of ER experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation required
• No on-call requirement
• 13-week assignment length
• Patient ratio of 1:4

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric and adult emergency conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and respiratory infections preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Proficiency in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required
• Current copies of all certifications required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Manage care of assigned patients and direct activities of ancillary staff
• Collaborate with nursing peers, physicians, and allied support services to address physical, psycho-social, safety, and learning needs of patients and families
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff/travelers must have a 1-year separation before returning
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• Only 1 holiday request approved per contract, with holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have prior ED experience, with 3 years preferred
• Must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
