Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a surgical oncology unit requiring 2 years of acute care experience and a CO or Compact RN license.
Details
- Surgical oncology unit within a teaching hospital setting
- 36 staffed beds with patients primarily admitted for abdominal or pelvic surgical oncology needs, including gynecologic, colorectal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach cancers
- Unit cares for patients requiring surgical intervention for cancer diagnoses or complications, with focus on post-op recovery milestones
- No chemotherapy or biotherapy administered on this unit
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, which may flex up based on staffing and unit needs
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:00 PM, weekends only
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active RN license (CO or Compact) required
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Comfortable working in environments with flexible staffing ratios
- Chemo certification not required
Additional Information
- Provide post-operative nursing care to surgical oncology patients, supporting progress toward discharge milestones
- Navy scrub color required
- First-time travelers accepted, provided they have teaching hospital experience
- Maximum of 10 RTO days approved, with blackout periods where RTO is not permitted
- Local candidates accepted
