Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 19-bed Labor and Delivery unit
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
- 1:2-3 patient ratio
- Floating to Postpartum/Mother Baby required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Facility averages 100-200 births per month
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- 2+ years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- BLS and NRP certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate certification required
- Competent in management of second stage labor and vaginal exams
- Comfortable with transitioning newborns in labor and delivery
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood/blood products
- Experience with high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance
- Experience with use of external and internal fetal monitoring
- Experience recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery care including antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
- Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, including forceps/vacuum extraction
- Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Provide postpartum care including breastfeeding support and wound assessment
- Support pain management including epidural anesthesia and opioid administration
- Candidates must not reside in Moore County to be eligible for this position
