Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring prior travel nursing experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills.

Details

• Work on an adult/geriatric Medical-Surgical unit caring for patients with varied medical and surgical conditions
• Manage complex patients with multiple comorbidities requiring pre- and post-operative care
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Rotating holidays and weekends required
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active MD RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical RN experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of charge experience
• Must be able to independently interpret cardiac rhythms
• MEDITECH charting experience required
• Strong assessment skills for high-acuity, multi-patient management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care experience
• Experience with blood product administration
• Experience with wound care, wound vac, and surgical drains
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• Experience managing seizure disorders and substance withdrawal

• Care for a diverse adult and geriatric patient population with complex medical conditions and post-operative needs
• Provide cardiac monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Manage feeding tubes, heparin protocols, and PCA medications
• Smoke-free facility
• Complete pre-start online training modules (approximately 4-5 hours) no later than one week prior to start
• Proof of residency must match candidate licensure
• Accepts local candidates with no radius restriction
• RTO requests reviewed and approved on a per-case basis
