Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU position requiring 3 years of NICU experience and active Maryland or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Full-service Level III NICU caring for extremely low birth weight infants as young as 24 weeks gestation weighing as little as 500 grams
• 30-bed unit with an average daily census of approximately 10 babies with mixed acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• Rotating holidays and weekends required
• Call required, 12 hours per 4-week schedule
• Float to NAN (newborn admission nurse) or DRAN (delivery room baby nurse) roles, or to the baby module in the Family Center
• Patient ratio of 1:3

Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• STABLE certification preferred
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• First-time travelers considered if they have Level III or higher NICU experience
• Meditech charting system experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Experience with high-risk deliveries, therapeutic hypothermia, and neonatal abstinence syndrome preferred

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill neonates including extremely low birth weight infants
• Participate in high-risk deliveries and newborn admission duties as needed
• Smoke-free facility
• No radius rule for this facility, and rates are the same for local travelers
• RTO requests must be submitted with the application and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Pre-start online training modules required, averaging 4-5 hours, to be completed no later than one week prior to start
• Strict attendance policy with no grace period for tardiness
