Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a complex care unit requiring NY licensure, charge experience, and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Complex care unit treating medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients
• Telemetry monitoring performed on the unit
• Patient ratio ranges from 1:5 to 1:7 for Med/Surg
• Alternating day (7a-7p) and night (7p-7a) 4x12 hour shifts
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• Requires proficiency in EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand with no exceptions
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Previous charge experience required
• 1:6 patient ratio experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, rapid response/code team use, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experienced in pacemaker management (temporary/permanent), central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care
• Proficient in blood product administration, phlebotomy, and IV therapy
• Skilled in ortho trauma and total joint replacement care, including surgical drain management
• Experienced with high flow nasal cannula, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tank use
• Tracheostomy management experience required
• Skilled in isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac management
• Experienced with heparin protocols and feeding tube care and management

Additional Information

• Works in a tertiary care hospital with 528 staffed beds
• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound management
• Navy scrubs required on bottom, navy or white on top
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
• Previous employees must have at least 6 months since their last assignment system-wide
• Candidates with more than 10 days of requested time off will not be considered
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
