Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU (Progressive Care Unit) position requiring 1-2 years of PCU/critical care experience and a CO or compact RN license.

Details

• PCU unit with 12 total staffed beds
• Nights shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00), various days of the week
• 1:3 patient ratio
• Uses Epic charting system
• Weekend shifts required per unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to like units per facility needs
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• AHA NIHSS certification required
• CPI certification preferred
• 1-2 years of PCU or critical care experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with arterial line management, central and peripheral line care, and IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with cardiac procedures including pacemakers, pre/post cardiac cath, and post MI care preferred
• Experience with neurological/psychiatric conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal preferred

Additional Information

• Provide care to progressive care/stepdown patients requiring continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring
• Participate in use of Rapid Response/Code teams as needed
• Complete all facility-specific modules within the first week of assignment
• First-time travelers accepted provided experience requirements are met
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility accepted at local bill rate
• Candidates previously employed by UCHealth or its affiliates must disclose this information for eligibility review
• Candidates who applied to UCHealth's internal travel jobs or perm staff within the last two years are not eligible for consideration
• Returning travelers who completed a full year on assignment must wait at least one year before rebooking
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during peak census times
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
